Cannt make a mirro, 2000 server. Why?

I bougt an identical disk as my c: partition and installed the new drive. I instaled the drive onto a USB 2.0 external enclosure. now in disk management, i can't upgrade the disk to dynamic. WHY? This is preventing me from making my mirror.

Turns out I cant make a dynamic disk with a USB drive. This really sucks.
