Hello there,
My CD/RW aways claims that it has an empty medium inserted. No matter if there is or is not a disc in.
I can boot WindowsXP instalation from this CD/RW - so it is not broken. It 'stopps' working when WindowsXP are loaded.
What shuld be the problem?
I have deleted CD/RW and apropriate IDE Channel from Device manager, rebooted and the controler and CD/RW were newly discovered but the problem was still the same...
What else can I do?

Check for virus's.I would be very suspicious of what is happening.
