Firewire to Videocam problem

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I use a Dazzle Firewire card to capture and edit video. Everything

works perfect until I try to dump the video back to the camera. The

camera doesn´t receive any video, some frames show up, then freezes

up, then blank frame, etc. I tried connecting the firewire card to a

different computer and everything works perfect in and out. I tried

connecting the card to a different PCI Slot, same problem. It seems

to me there may be a motherboard-firewire card incompatibility, Could

this be possible?. I use Windows XP and a PC Chips MotherBoard. The Firewire driver is a Texas Instruments OHCI Compliant. Maybe

the motherboard needs some tweeking?? new drivers?? Where can I found them?? Any thoughts on this?? thanks.

hmmm. I say find some updated drivers using google, and checking your motherboard's bios. I've seen similar issues in my video production class. think tehy fixed it by a driver update. (reason for the problem was motherboard compatibility with the driver version.)
