ping to win2k not working but it does the way around from win2k to linux

machine.


why ?

problem with net cable maybe ?

you question is not possible... are you saying you can ping the Linux machine from another machine on your network... but you can't ping another machine on Linux?

There are immediate questions I have for you.

1) Are loggin in as a user or root on the Linux machine?
2) What kind of a network are we talking about?
3) Are you sure you have this network setup properly?
4) Can you describe the type of install you did on the Linux machine (Kitchen sink install or "Workstation" )
5) Are you able to get to the Internet on the machine (assuming the network works properly)
