compaq presario R3000T laptop vs. hp pavillion zx5000 laptop

Questions:
1) I configured a compaq R3000T with the same
specs as an hp zx5100 laptop, but the hp is $50 more expensive - why - are hp's the higher quality brand?
2) The compaq above uses JBL pro internal speakers but the hp uses interal Harman Kardon speakers - which is better quality? i need a basis to decide between the two laptops.
