Hi,

I have a small home network with one Server (w2KS) and 3 PCs that share files and printers. No issues there. The server has a SCSI HP Scanner attached to it. Is it possible to share it with the other PCs(W2K Pro) over the LAN? Kindly advise how.
Thank you.

Sorry, not possible unless you want to use Remote Desktop or VNC on to the other PC to use the Scanner facilities. It cannot be shared like printers or files.

Some scanners provide software to act as a scanner server and allow you to do what you want.

Check the manufacturer's website and see if you can't find something there.

Hey,
You can share any TWAIN compatible scanner (practically any scanner made) with all your computers on a network.
You can even scan under Terminal Services from hosted applications.

check out www.remote-scan.com

I think you'll like it
