cannot access user folder of old installation

I needed a fresh install but can't erase my harddrive cause I had so much I needed on there, so i reinstall on the same hard drive, partition but in a differant folder, and when I try to access the folder for my old user in documents and settings it says: c:/documents and settings/mjollnir1 is not accessable.

access is denied

anyone have any idea what I could do>? I got some pictures really important to me in there
