linux suse 8.1 adsl olitec , networking issue

hi
i installed linux suse 8.1 all went very well , tried to ping own ip with intel pro100 nic card no results , tried to ping other machine no results , tried to configure adsl olitec interface does not sync line ,
any solutions will be great.
