where does windows xp service pack 1 express download the files to.

like the *.dl_ ect.

Follow this link to the network installation:

The file you get can be extracted to a folder using the /x switch followed by the folder location.

This way you don't really have to worry about what temp directory MS is using to download all the files to your computer.
