Here's the situation: I've got a laptop that I'm gonna use in and out of the office. At the office I will be connected to a domain and out of the office, obviously not. Now, I can't figure out how to combine my local user account with my office network account so that when I log in to either of them I will have the same desktop and settings, etc. Is this even possible?
Thanks for putting up with my ignorance.

Windows XP will cache your domain account information. When you are out of the office just log in normally, using the work domain, and you will have the same desktop and windows settings.
If you need to map a drive on your home network you will need to map it using a local account and password.
