Sound on asus p4pe and Md9

Hi,

does anybody know how to activate the on-board sound card (ad1980) with mandrake 9??

I've downloaded the alsa drivers, libs and tools but my sound card is always mute. I use the intel8x0 module how suggested and the alsa mixer seems to work.....
