Do you want to dial the inet when the comp starts up or do you want to get rid of it? What os/sp are you running.

I have heard of something similar and this is what i found. They usually have AIM or yahoo messenger or something similar that starts automatically upon startup and then demands the internet connection. Two thing, either save the password so that it will connect or find the program that is requesting the internet on start up and kill it.

Just my 2 cents...First, you may want to go into the Options in IE, go to Connections and choose "never dial a connection"...then I would run msconfig to check out what is running at startup...

go to Control Panel, Internet Options, Connections Tab and underneath the dialup and Virtual Private Network Settings box, you will see 3 radio dials. Make sure the first radio dial is selected
- Never dial a connection

also make sure no programs run at startup that need a connection
ie, Outlook Express email program, Anti Virus program that is searching for live updates, Windows Live Updates etc
