will only download two at a time

i am downloading a variaty of themes and stuff from the web but i can only have two download windows running at once? any idea y?

when i try to download a third it waits until one of the others is complete?

im using xp pro and ie

1) I think IE has some restrictions on how many downloads you can have at a time. But I don't really remember if it was max two downloads..

2) It could also be a server issue.. Sometimes, servers (most likely ftp servers) limit a number of connections an user can make.

Nah its part of the HTTP1.1 protocol.

A way around it, includes the following

To configure IE to allow up to 10 simultaneous downloads (it only allows 2 at a time) do the following:

Open Registry Editor.

In Registry Editor, navigate to the following registry key:

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings

On the Edit menu, click Add Value, and then add the following registry value:

"MaxConnectionsPer1_0Server"=Dword:0000000a
"MaxConnectionsPerServer"=Dword:0000000a

You can change 0000000a to any other value as long as it's hexadecimal.

Close the registry editor
