back info: WXP Home (upgraded frm W98SE); Dell BRIO; with 966mHZ; 256 MB of RAM; and 37.2 GB hard drive.

I have to replace the A:\ before. I've replaced enough A:\ to do it almost in my sleep. However, this PC owner had problems with her A:\ for a while and was told if the A:\ was replaced, it would mess up the mother board. What's funny, is that the CDROm was changed with a CDROM Write instead. Don't know why the techie previous to me did this. Has anyone heard of this before? Why would the previous techie replace the CDROM instead of the A:\?

It used to want to continuously format the hard drive. Now, it want can't even read anything in the drive. ;(
