Command & Conquer Renegade Install Problem

Hello everyone.
I tried to install my copy of C&C Renegade in my system. When it gets a 100% complete (!), it gives me an error message that says something like this: "FILE SYSTEM ERROR". I can't remember the exact message. The funny thing is that, if I browse the directory where I tried to install the game, I can play it, and I even can save my games. But the system doesn't detect it as installed. And it's giving me some problems now. I tried to install a mod, but it also doesn't detect my game as installed...
Anybody can help me?
