How does the following network behaves in different situations?

machine 1
NIC binded to IPX/NETBIOS and Microsoft network client, no TCP/IP binding.
A dialup adaptor binded to TCP/IP, but not to IPX/NETBIOS, and not to Mcrosoft network client.

machine 2
NIC binded to IPX/NETBIOS and Microsoft network client, no TCP/IP binding.
A dialup adaptor binded to TCP/IP, but not to IPX/NETBIOS, and not to Mcrosoft network client.

they are connectd to each other via a cross-over cat.5 cable, no hub/router involved. Is ther some indication of problem of any kind that might arises? Thanks.

Alright, there is one I come across, FlexLM License Server installation on some professional software require a static IP for the NIC and TCP/IP binded to that NIC to function. wink
