Sorry for the long winded dscription but I can't find the right terminology. I would like to disable some applications that launch themselves from an entry in the registry or somewhere else.

How do I find and disable the entry - I recall there was a term in the registry to search for. Anyone know?

Thanks a lot.

If you are running 98 or XP (non 2000) then you can use msconfig in a console. Or if you must do it in the registry then the path is:
hkey_local_macchine/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run
and
hkey_current_user/software/microsoft/windows/currentversion/run

Thankyou very much. I have 2000 on the work laptop so it had to be regedit but I've got the result I was after.

Is there any tool like TweakXP for win2000 that gives you this functionality?

Hi DVDHack,
One of the best tools for this is Jv16. www.JV16.org.
Cheers,
