hi,
We have in our firm Windows 2000 professional clients(around 150 clients) and a mix of WinNT and Win 2K servers. We have Service Pack 1 installed on the clients. I wanted to know the best way to CENTRALLY install SP 3 on these clients. None of the employees have Administrator rights on the clients.
Importantly, we donot have access to Logon scripts and group policies because the clients login to a domain which we donot have permissions on.(its kinda of Master Domain situation)
Basically i'm looking for a Software that would assist in updating the clients with all Service Packs and patches. It would be better if this software could also update other software service packs also like Office 2000 etc.
I see many software claiming to do this , but I wanted to know from people who have been in this situation as to which one was the best solution.

Thanks

That is quite a situation regarding the deployment of updates. Altiris and Ghost dont have ways to deploy services packs. No scripts and no GPOs .... Is SMS on site?

The situation you described is like using a computer without a keyboard wink

I would start with
http://www.stbernard.com/products/updateexpert/products_updateexpert.asp (great software)
www.appdeploy.com (as a reference for other means and products).
