Hi, running 2000 server with terminal services in remote admin mode. This mode only gives our it staff 3 logins, 2 terminal over the web using tsac, and 1 console. When I'm logged in over the web connection I can open the terminal services manager to see the other logged in user on the web. At the console I can't. We ran into a problem where one admin did not disconnect and could not see who it was from the console screen. If I had logged in using the other web connection I would have been able t see who was on but can't access from inside our network (firewall rule). Even tried the command line util query server to see if I could find that user.

Wound up waiting for the idle timeout, but would like a better solution. Any advice?

Thanks,
Ry

http://dev.remotenetworktechnology.com/cmd/tscmd.htm

Should be all the syntax you need.

Though I dont understand ..... Terminal Server Manger MMC allows you to see who is logged on while you are at the console or connected to a terminal session.

You might wanna try using VPN access to remotely manage your TS server. Thereby you wont have to open port 3389 for RDP.

That is exactly what I would have thought, but I tried it again today and had the same results. From the console the terminal server manager shows me basically nothing. Perhaps I configured something wrong, or it might be because I'm using remote administration mode. I would use the other mode, but unfortunately the current budget will not allow me to get any CALs for our 9x clients. There are still enough of them to cause a problem.

That site was helpful DS3, but still didn't do the trick. Anyone else have any ideas?
