monkey island iii on win xp

I am not able to run The Curse Of monkey Island (MI3) on win xp.
Tried it on compatibility mode but did not help. On launching the application nothing happens.

Don't use the launcher. Surf to the directory and run the other .exe. Sorry that I cannot give more specifics but it's been awhile since I last played the game. There's an unofficial launcher out there that works great but I do not have a link.
