We just got cable setup at our 2 sister companies and now want to be able to access the shared drive at one company from the other. How do I go about doing this? We have static IP's also.

Would setting up a VPN through Win2K Pro "Make New Connection" work for me? If so, is it a hard process? Never done it =))

*gulp*
Is there any basic way to allow one company to access a shared drive at another company. Each company has a linksys router and Terayon cable modem. Is there something I need to setup within the router to allow incoming connections?
Don't mean to be a pain, I just need to get it done today or tomorrow. Any advice?

54 views and no responses...I am screwed hehe. I have read through the other posts, and can't find what I need. Damn I feel so numb when it comes to networking. There is so much to it!

1. Open the ports for your VPN, if you use PPTP need to open port 1723 and configure GRE 47 .... I imagine on the Linksys models its just a check box or so through their web interface
2. Configure a VPN server.

3. Configure the VPN client.
