New printer problem

Hello again

I'm Running Windows 2000 final and installed my OKIPage 4w succesfully.

The problem is now, when the printer isn't switched on (no power) the task SYSTEM eats 90% of my CPU power and the system becomes VERY slow ... It seems, the printer driver/spooler is sending a lot of sh*t to the printer and of course gettig no answers.

Now the funny part: If I switch the printer on, everything is fine, the task SYSTEM eats only about 10% and Windows is fast as without any printer drivers...

Any ideas?

P.S: The printer is on power safe mode -> 5W

but it sux to have it switched on all the day...

Could you please tell how you managed to install the 4w drivers? I've tried several times but I always get a message that the printer driver did not install. I've read the readme file without getting any wiser

That did the trick - thankyou!

Don't know what I did wrong before, but this time I deleted the whole c:\winnt and installed a virgin copy of NT before trying.
