i need to choose about 10 different patches to download and update on 20 windows 2000 computers, is there a faster way to do it?

2. SUS

3. A login script that calls qchain.exe to install multiple hotfixes.

UpdateExpert.

Remember to test the patches first. Never know what they actually are until you test them.

i recieved this error on my SUS:

Unable to connect to server "http://www.msus.windowsupdate.com/". Verify
that your proxy settings are configured correctly. (Error 0x80072EE7: The
server name could not be resolved by DNS.)

any idea?

Did those other URL/UNC names work (the ones other than www.msus.windowsupdate.com)?

* Or, did using IP address numbers (substituted in place of UNC/URL names for the address) work instead??

(I am just curious, I may run into this one day myself, & need to know the workaround...)

I'm pretty sure Microsoft must be blocking ICMP requests, since I can't even ping windowsupdate.microsoft.com but I can still get to it via HTTP. Or something's really screwed with their setup.
