Hi all,

Anyone know if you can upgrade from NT to XP Home Edition?

I need to upgrade but don't want to shell out the additional $200 for the Professional Edition.

Thanks,
oliverf

The price difference between the upgrade XP Home and XP Pro editions should be about US $100, not $200. The FPP (Full Packaged Product) XP Professional is only $299.

Well, canadian it's 150 vs 300. So that's about double.

Thanks for your replies. What about a clean install using Home edition?

That should work just fine, provided that you do not need the features in the Professional version.

I would check the HCL for winxp and your machine.

The hardware requirements between NT and XP are rather substantial and you would most certainly want the most bang for your buck.

IE

NT workstation supports 2 physical cpu and XP Home doesnt .... just figured I would bring this up.
