I installed System Shock 2 without problem under XP but when I try to run it, the following message appears:
"The ordinal 1079 could not be located in the dynamic link library
KERNEL32.dll"
My system: Intel Celeron 1000MHZ
Geforce 2 MX400
256MB SDRAM
GA-6VTXE Gigabyte Motherboard
Windows XP Pro
DirectX 8.1
Any suggestions?

Have you installed the patch ?
Perhaps also try to get a No-CD version of the EXE, as it might have something to do with the copy protection on the CD.
Regards
Andrew

I have installed the shkpatch and i have tried a no-cd crack for the patched version...
Results are the same...
I even tried another patch. This time no message but still not working (kicked me back to windows desktop).

The best place to ask about this would be :
http://www.ttlg.com
They have a forum dedicated to System Shock 2.
I've tried to have a look but the site is currently down.

I'm a HUGE SS2 fan. It's still my favorite single-player FPS game.
You might want to consider using the Rebirth mod. Screenshots and more can be found in the link.
[edit] Whoah, didn't realize the thread was so old at first... Wonder why it even came up as a link... Oh well. Still a good mod. [/edit]
