XP professional compatibility question

I have to replace hard drives on several machines and am contemplating upgrading from Win 98 to XP Professional at the same time. One lingering question that I have not been able to get a definite answer to however is the compatability with my existing NT 4.0 domain. Will XP professional function properly in this environment?

I have been running XP Pro on a NT 4.0 domain and have problems. When a user logs on, logs off, then back on, they can't resolve DNS names. Local Admin doesn't have this problem. Any ideas?
