We have got an issue with application we need to install urgently that requires us to upgrade to Windows 2000 server. This means I will need to migrate the domain. I just want to sanity check my migration plans and hopefully get some tips on how to make it go smoothly.

I detailed our environment below:

We have one small domain with 1 PDC and 1 BDC. The PDC is a file server/print server and database frontend. The BDC runs exchange 5.5 on NT4 SP6a.
We also have a standalone NT4 server which is a domain member to our domain.

My plan is to migrate the PDC to W2000 server running it in mixed mode. I want to leave the migration of the BDC/Exchange server until later. I am concerned that this upgrade may effect the domain account access to mailboxes on my exchange 5.5 server.

Thanks

Chris
