Did you create a domain? If not, is the workgroup name set correctly? Have you cross-posted on the windows beta (private) newsgroups? Are you running the server with the DHCP service or you have your IP DHCP-assigned? You do know that unless you set up scopes, you can only have one DHCP server, right? Most routers/gateways are configured by default as DHCP servers, so you should probably check your router/gateway config, too.

Can you ping the other boxes IPs? How about if you 'Run' \\%COMPUTERNAME%\ ?

hey

i did not install any of the exatra's yet, dhcp / dns/ nothing

simply put in my domain - same as on my other computer, and set ti to dhcp.

i set up the file server, that is it, but i shall go back and double chgeck.

Also, shall check out the winbeta groups, forgot about them

update - Yes i cna ping the other 6 computers on our network

Also, under the network, it show the domain named - COSTA (as in costa rica) it is once i try to enter there i get the error frown
