I don't know if this is possible but thought I'd ask anyway. I need a program that will allow me to scan my old hand written documents into Windows, & then convert my writing into text. It would really save me weeks in re-writing (i.e., typing) these documents in MS Word.
Thoughts or ideas anyone?

I depends on the quality of your handwriting - I have trouble reading my own writing sometimes, and I doubt that any application would be able to do better
)
The only thing Google came up with was the new tablet PCs, but at the moment (AFAIK) there are no plans for Microsoft to release the handwriting recognition as an upgrade to "normal" Windows XP.
Download.com came up with this application, but it looks like it will only convert writing formed from distinct (i.e. not grown-up and joined-up) writing.
Sorry I couldn't help more - looks like you might be spending the festive period typing up your notes again ;( Hope you manage to find something - and if you do, please share with us!!
