Well I took the plunge for the heck of it!
Only playing Medieval Total War at the moment and I did notice that now when trying to save a game the save game menu flashes and it's a pain trying to figure out where to clic to actually save the game.
but I am also running the Catalyst drivers (3.0) so it's most likely a vid card driver issue.
haven't tried it with other games yet but will let you know after a little Battlefield Multi today!

PS When is anything put out by MS not really beta anyways?!?!?! :x

Unfortunately Asheron's Call 2 crashes at startup with DX9 installed, so I uninstalled it (WinXP System Restore)
I have GF4 with 41.09 detonators.

Yep installed DX 9 with the new Catalyst 3.0 drivers for my Radeon 8500. I had corruption in Mafia, and noticed my Quake 3 timedemo dropped 5 frames. I went back to Catalyst 2.5 and recovered the 5 frames, and the Mafia menu is no longer corrupted. Even with DX 9, the 2.5 Catalyst are the best for the Radeon 8500.

It turned out that it wasn't Asheron's Call 2 to crash with DirectX 9 but... buggy UPnP implementation on Linksys router. Linksys released new firmwares short after DirectX 9 hit the pavement and everything works nicely since then.
