I have some files burned onto a CD-RW that cannot be accessed. I can browse & open folders without problem, but opening/running files within the folders is another story.

I used Nero to burn, & was told that the burn was completed successfully. I have mostly pictures (bmp's & jpg's), & some exe's (like winamp, video driver, etc). When I try to open some pictures, whether it may be a bmp or jpg, nothing happens. The exe's refuse to even run, giving me a "This is not a valid win32 application" error.

Nero burned at the disc (Memorex Platinum CD-RW) maximukm rating of 4x. Can I "recover" any of these files, or is this particular disc toast?

Hmmm, dunno. How do I tell if the CD is closed?

I have used a tool in the past that has been able to recover 'lost' data such as yours. This tool is called IsoBuster, and can be found here.
