Problems with all games

Can some1 help me. When I used to run XP, every game used to run fine. Reformatted yesterday and installed windows 2000 & Service Pack 2 and all my games will run for about 20 seconds, then just crash back to desktop.

What could be causing this?

AMD XP 2000
MSI KT3 Ultra ARU
512mb Crucial ddr 2100 2.5
2 x WD 80gb 8 meg
1 x Seagate 60gb
Soundblaster Audigy
MSI GF4-ti 4200
Asuscom ISDN PCI
4 Port USB 2.0 PCI
Plexwriter 40-12-40
Sond DVD - 16x

Install all updated drivers. Such as VIA motherboard drivers and Directx 8.1b for starters.

Also why did you go from XP to 2K? (I applaud your decision if you know what your doing....)
