updateing cd burner firmware

the instructions for installing the firmware for my burner says i have to disable DMA, and disable Auto Insert Notification on that drive then install the firmware.. the problem im haveing is in XP when i got to disable those options, i can change the DMA but when i try to disable the Auto Insert Notification its greyed out so i cant click on it..... how can i get around this?... thanx,
