the thing is that on winxp the ms-dos applications, when you right-click the application icon with the mouse, then click properties and go to the PROGRAM tab, is selected by default the "close when finished" checkmark, the question is that how can i do to avoid that winxp do that by default.

Check the properties of the _default.pif in your \WINDOWS directory. This is the default.pif for NTVDM

I read your reply, and then had to see the name of the person with the good answer. What a coincidence!

Yay DosFreek. Hey Dosfreek, how do I set up DHCP in MS-Dos 6.22? I know I need my Nics drivers, but what MS networking files would I need as well? Thanks in advance. I'm trying to get Arachne web browsing and network file sharing enabled.

I had to setup DOS servers a long time ago, and what you are looking for is the MSClient disks from an NT 3.51 or better CD, and WG1049.EXE. Here are a couple of links detailing the setup of networking and serving in DOS with links to these files. If the files are not available, let me know and we'll try to find another way to get them to you.

Update on the DOS Server stuff; I found a site that is hosting mirrors of the files, but the original page that had directions on using them (and links to them) is now dead. However, Google still has the cached one, so here is a link with the directions and the links to the files that you need to make a DOS Server.
