I miss this game, and would really like to get it going on XP, but:
Without compatibility mode the error msg says not compatible with WinNT
With compatibility I get an application error- event id 1000
Faulting application exoddus.exe, version 2.0.0.0, faulting module exoddus.exe, version 2.0.0.0, fault address 0x0000d830.
How do you get it to run? Is it possible?

Know anyone with a Windows 2000 CD? Included on there is a tool called APCOMPAT.EXE which can fudge the Windows version reported to programs. I used to use it back when I ran 2000 in order to get Need for Speed 3 to install under that OS. Simply execute APCOMPAT, select the version of Windows (you're given a choice of Win95, 98, NT4 Service Packs 4 and 5 and Windows 2000. Start with Windows 98), browse to the Exoddus install progran and press the Ok button.

Thank you for replying.
I have a 2000 CD, I ran Exodus through apcompat. but still get the same error.

Update: I have 3 computers with XP on, amongst them one laptop, and the same happens on all of them.
Specs for the computer I'd like to get it running on:
XP pro servicepack1
ABIT via chipset
2x PIII 850 Mhz
1024 MB RAM
ASUS Geforce3 v8200 t5
Live!
plenty of HDspace
CDrom is drive G: (MYST had problems with that, so I include it in case it matters)
resolution 1600x1200
Anybody..?

I'm reviving this long forgotten post because I have the same problems. I'd check what the Oddworld forum said but it's down right now. Does anyone know what it said or know what I have to do to run Oddworld: Abe's Exoddus? Thanks in advance.
