Pretty much a whole new PC here.

In the following order:

[list][*] 17" ADI F720 monitor
[*] Cheap 300W ATX midtower case
[*] 80Gb HDD (hopefully by the time I'm ready to buy the 8Mb cache WDs would have come down in price. I wouldn't mind one of the 120Gb versions...)
[*] CD burner
[*] DVD-ROM
[*] EpoX 8K5A2+ motherboard (has onboard LAN and USB2.0 and is only 20 bucks dearer than the 8K3A+)
[*] 512Mb PC2700 DDR-SDRAM
[*] AMD Athlon XP 2200+
[*] Cooling fan for the above (not quite sure about this yet, I'm considering the Thermaltake Volcano 7+ but nothings concrete yet.)
[*] Video card, possibly a GeForce4 Ti4200[/list:u]

I want my work PC at home:

Dual 2.2GHz Xeons
1GB RDRAM
Plextor 40x24x40 burner
16x DVD-ROM
Dual 36GB U320 15K RPM SCSI drives in RAID0
1 120GB WD Ultra-ATA 100 HD w/ 8MB Buffer

Oh, and dual flatscreen monitors and a good video capture solution for it would be nice too.

smile

well alec I really don't think the NV30 is in my price range. I am running my own small biz so essentials are what I need. I don't really game that much at all so this is what i had in mind http://www.msicomputer.com/product/vga/vga_detail.asp?model=G4MX460-VTP
I know it is an MX and it is crippled (no pixel shaders and whatnot) but like I said I don't really have a chance to play that much anymore. Besides that is more than enough card for my aging p3s.

i would definetly wait till next year for a video card

Since the 9700 PRO already has in it's specs a 256mb version!

so next year should be interesting!

i mean my video card already (g4 4600) aready has more memory then most people computers on this island...lol

One day i will build the ULTIMATE system, but u know, a few month later it will be a giant paper weight..lol so almost pointless frown

i likey won't do that until i got my own house with like a T1 or T3 running into it

talk about dreaming!
