Perhaps the issue is that with 80 something thousand posts, we have covered the most common issues with NT/2k/XP compatibility???

The main ones seem to have been:

- VIA & Win2k/XP
- SBLive & Win2k/XP (drivers incl)
- Networking Win98 and Win2k/XP
- Sound in DOS games under Win2k/XP
- Setting up broadband for the home.
- Operating temps
- RAID configuration
- MPeg decoder cards
- DirectX betas
- Dual-booting
- Multi-monitor setups
- A buttload of system specs (if these don't show how compatible 2k/XP is I don't know what will)

If you can think of other issues frequently dealt with, add em on. Be interesting to know the number of work hours required to produce the solutions to the problem. If you could put a true dollar value on this available knowledge, Philip would be a millionaire and all the members massive philanthropists. WE could be careful, with all this "knowledge for everyone, everyone being equal" we might be declared Commies.

I reckon this site has saved Microsoft milliion$$$$ if they chose to read it.

Also, I think that rampant piracy of Betas and the consequent posting of problems on sites such as this should have given them a much wider testing base. Now while I don't condone piracy, I can see the commercial value in turning a blind eye to mass distribution of a beta.

Perhaps Philip should hit MS up for some sponsorship. laugh
