Oh dear dear dear
Whats the point in using a dx8 d3d benchmark to show you the performance in a 4 year old game that uses the quake1 engine. Not to mention the fact that HL has a 100fps limit, that even a very modest system will max out all the time
Oh.....dear!
PS. im off to buy a gateway!

half life does not use the quake1 engine.
they were the first to do skeletal animation.
plus, counter strike is still the second most popular game..so naaaaaaaah! 8-p

H-L supposedly uses a combo of the Quake1 and Quake 2 engines with the skeletal animation.

Who cares about the gfx engine, the game had the BEST A.I in the world when it came out, some of the "new" games this year are still way worse than HL when it came out. And CS is the #1 online game in the world by the way
Which points out that graphics are not everything...
Maybe some developers should listen, and stop packing 6-7 CDs with nice graphics and $hit gameplay.
