blue screen of death

I just recently installed xp on my server(Digital 5000 dual p2's scsi ect.) now i am haveing stability problems there is no particular action thet makes it happen it just happens last night for instance it was just idleing away and i came in to work today and i got this message, Hardware malfunction System has halted, is there a log or anything i can look at? i thought maybe it was my video card thats what i'm going to try and uninstall today and see how that goes, thanks in advance guys i love this site

Have you looked through the Event Viewer (Control Panel -> Adminisatrative Tools)?

Make sure you have the latest drivers for your chipset also, that's always a possible problem.

no i did not do a clean install it was an upgrade over win2000 and it worked fine i'm starting to think it's my video card(voodoo3) i'm going to uninsall it and use the crappy on board to see if that fixes it

Upgrades are usually the culprit, trust me, do a clean install.

ok i did a clean install with no voodoo card and it still happens, and there is nothing in the event veiwer, i'm at a loss here does any one think it could be a hardware conflict that would cause it? maybe ? i'm going to check the i/o's and irq's and memory addys more update to come thanks guys

At this point, I can't rightly say. Did you change anything in BIOS?
Could you post your specs?

ok here's her specs digital server 5015 dual pII266's 98MB ECC RAM embedded video(s3trio) Embedded dual scsi controllers (adaptec AIC 7880) any other detailed info can be obtained at http://www.compaq.com/legacysupport/digital/ds5100.html i do realize that a severe upgrade is required (512MB 168pin 133mhz ECC RAM) and dual pII 550's but i would like to fix this problem first......if any one has pII's they wanna sell ;( or ECC RAM ;( but any ways you can email me personally too at marcusclarida@yahoo.ca
