If I get an ATX 12v PSU can I use that with an Athlon motherboard. I am thinking you just don't use the 12v connector right? I want to upgrade the PSU on my Athlon to a P4 one so I can add a P4 motherboard later.

Depends on the P4 motherboard u want...if u get the Asus P4B266 it can work with older PSUs as well. And it's the best DDR P4 board out now.

Actually I was looking at the Gigabyte 8SRX smile Much cheaper and overclocks better than the ASUS due to the AGP/PCI speed lock. Plus the ASUS has problems with overclocking and USB 1.1 devices frown
