Whenever I restart my system the icons are never being the same before. Sometimes all the icons in the desktop looks like Adobe sometimes like winzip.

I use Tweakui to repair the icons.

I would like to know the real reason behind this problem

I have heard from many people that TweakUI can cause icon problems. In fact, I couldn't use it many times due to that problem. Maybe your icons are getting messed up due to the fact that you have TweakUI installed in the first place...

Hey...could be

Hi,

I have seen this problem on varying flavours of Windows. The icon fix in tweak can be problematic and is really a last resort. You may have a problem with the ShellIconCache file. If this is the case there are a couple of things to try:

This is what Microsoft suggest. If you're not comfortable with editing your registry download x-teq from http://www.xteq.com/

Install and run it and go to

Appearance\Interface\Icons\Icon Cache Clear, press the button and Apply the changes.

Hope this helps.
