Right now I have a dual boot system with XP and linux. I have found out that linux is not the thing for me and now I want to get rid of it. The only problem is that when I erase the partition it is on my boot for XP is gone and it does nothing when I turn on the computer. It will detect the IDE stuff but when it comes time to boot a OS it just sits there. I got around this by reinstalling linux and now I can boot to either one but I really want linux off my system. Does anyone know how to do this without screwing XP?

Boot from the XP CD, select "Repair", choose the command prompt/repair console option (or whatever it's called), then at the command prompt type:
fixmbr

That will rewrite the MBR of your hard drive, and you should be able to boot into XP as normal.
