I can finally hope to put the wraps on this one...it happened to me already few times. Suspected the IBM 60 GXP at first, but then read the link on the front page @ http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;Q315403&ID=315403

Too bad I decided to format my C: in NTFS, leaving everything else as FAT32...duhh. I think PM7 can convert NTFS to FAT32, I'll try it later today.

The 60GXP seems to have failed the IBM's onw stresstest proggie, it reported bad sectors. Drive heading for replacement this week, what a pity it was only 4 months old. I hope I can exchange it for a WD 80 GB 5400 rpm (same price as a 60GXP 60GB 7200rpm). I say phuck IBM frown

Found a Seagate Barracuda ST360021A 60GB U/DMA100 7200u/min...a bit cheaper than the IBM. Any thoughts on this? Should it be a good buy?
