Need for Speed Special Edition

I have installed this DOS version of the game by booting Windows 98 start-up boot disk with CD-ROM support mode and installed the game without problem. Then I try to run in on Win XP but it does not start and compatible modes causes it same result. Does anybody any idea how to get it working?
