Win2k won't remember passwords for network shares

I have a home LAN. There are computers on the network with password protected shares. My main Win2k computer won't remember the passwords for the shares and always asks for the password when it reconnects at logon. Is it possible to make Win2k cache passwords like 98 and XP can? TIA
