Dual monitor power options

I am running win2000 with an asus tnt2 ultra agp video card and a matrox pci video card with 2 monitors. I want the monitors to turn off after 20 mins of inactivity. I have set this in the power options, but only one monitor turns off (the one connected to the matrox card). Both monitors support the feature as I can swap the monitors to the other card. The option to set the monitor type is greyed out for the primary monitor, could this have something to do with it.
