Hidden and Dangerous - XPLOSIV!

Hi all,
First post here! Can anyone tell me if it is possible to get the XPLOSIV version of Hidden and Dangerous running on Windows 2000? I can't seem to get it working properly. All is well until I choose my men and weapons, at which point it locks totally.

The XPLOSIV (re-release) version comes patched to version 1.2, I hear this is the problem. Any way around it? 1.3 doesn't help either, I'm afraid.
