Sometimes when installing a program from my regular cd drive it just stalls. Not just the installation but the entire computer freezes and I have to turn it off and on again. It is not the drive itself as I replaced the first one and same problem. It never did this under windows 2000 only windows xp. The regular cd drive (LiteOn 52x) is the master and I have a yamaha cd burner as the slave. This is very frustrating. Any help would be appreciated.

My system is: Asus A7pro M/B with amd duron 850 & 128 megs of ram. Voodoo 3 video card and soundblaster sound card.

Sounds like a bad media. Or a bad drive.

Hey, I know it has been awhile since you posted this, but I am having the exact problem and would like to find out if and how you ever got it resolved. I have tried everything without success!

Thanks!

You might need to give the specifics of your configuration. For example, kslearning's difficulty was probably that the Burner was a slave. Most burners want to be configured as master.
