Thanks for the infrmation folks, one other question, do i reformat in xp by using the boot from cd method ?.

Yes, boot off the XP CD and when asked where you want to install it, select the partition you want to format and hit the "D" key, then "ENTER" then the "L" key, then select the unpartitioned space and Quck format it to FAT.

Thanks eddie, Pose another question, can an ntfs pc be networked with a fat32 pc.

Yes, NTFS and Fat can be networked.. It it still the NTFS computer doing all the reading from the HD so now problem there...

A Q for you... Why did you want to change back to FAT? I have never had any probbs using NTFS, and ppl tell me it it better?!?

Hi there, i assumed that running a pc on xp nfts and another running win 98se fat32, that you wouldn't be able to network them for playing games or transferring files
