quake 3 and optical mouse

i'm having problems getting my wheel to work in quake 3.

i've upgraded to the latest point release of quake 3,

and that doesn't seem to help.

 

i have a microsoft wheel mouse optical. i'm using the

intellimouse 4.0 drivers as well. just using the basic

windows xp drivers for the mouse didn't work either.

 

i really like to use the wheel to switch weapons. is

anyone else having this problem or knows how to fix it?

Go to your q3config.cfg file, and change the value "seta in_mouse" to "-1"

 

It worked for me (i got the same mouse as you).
